In early 1992, I started work on a project for the owners of a small boutique resort in Palm Springs. At the time I didn't realize that this was the start of several years of working for the owners on a series of projects that would reshape the grounds. This project was to create a waterfall wrapping around the corner of one of their buildings. The solution was an L-shaped shallow water pool with a concrete wall backing and various types and colors of rock to simulate geological layers like what you see around the desert where earthquakes and erosion have done their work on the earth's surface. I called it the "Mirage Strata Waterfall" A koi pond was later added at the base to expand the pond water effect.
