In 1992, immediately following the building of the "Mirage Strata Waterfall", I was asked to design and construct a long winding arborlike structure that would pass by the waterfall I had just created and link the original Vista Grande Resort to the newly purchased Mirage in the rear. The solution was a 54 foot long structure that curved around the corner of the front building then curved back to finish the linkage alongside the rear building. The vertical posts were groupings of four 4 x 4's with an upward pointing spotlight in the center of them. The curved beams to make the turns were laminated beams that matched the profile of the beams on the straight sections.
