Upon the completion of the "Mirage Gardens" in mid 1993 I was asked to execute a major sculpture for the garden which would overlook the waterfalls and grotto area. I began work in late 1993 and completed and erected the "Volcano God" sculpture in early 1994 in time for one of the owners' birthday. The sculpture is a 10 foot tall head of a man which looks somewhat like the sculptural heads of Easter Island.
