Created from leftover material of several other projects. In an attempt to be conscious about minimizing waste, I try to use every piece of material I can in other works until I'm left with small scraps of wood which I use as kindling to burn. When "Freeform 1" was started there was no preconceived idea of what the final form would be. It just grew in spurts from the shape and size of the wood pieces I had at the time. In each work session I'd look at the form I'd already created and the array of scraps I had on hand and make a decision on how I wanted the work to grow that day.
