RobStarted in 1992 and completed in 1999, 2nd of MaleNudeWorks series, sold in 1999
It did not take all seven years to create the work but rather it progressed in a series of intense work sessions in between working on commissioned projects for a series of clients. It was immediately sold when placed on the market and I had several offers to buy, one above the asking price of $18,000. The sculpture is one of 19 very elegant poses taken in a photo shoot of a model friend of mine who was a dancer and very limber. Any of the poses would have made a great work of art and I've attempted to create two more of the poses, so far without success. Constructed of 1/2" Arauco plywood with many layers of Minwax finish that resulted in a very high polished sheen. This sculpture is my signature work to date.
