"Tendrils" was started in the 1990's to be a giant fluorescent orange caterpillar but transformed in 2004 into a chain of tapered cylindrical forms that resembled a cluster of plantlife you'd find on the ocean floor. The reason for the transformation is purely impulsive. It is constructed of 1/2" 3-ply construction grade plywood with a multi-layer Minwax finish.
