As a result of repeated requests for outdoor sculptures, in mid 2013 I decided to develop a technique for producing works that would withstand the outdoor elements.  The result was a wood form built from construction grade wood, soaked in wood preservative and clad in sheets of galvanized steel nailed to the wood form with galvanized nails.  The hammer marks of nailing became a part of the image because it created a pebbled surface that refracted light in intersting ways.  "Wall Wave" is the first work I created using these techniques.  It is an ideal sculpture to be mounted on top of a wall or on a pedestal at the end of a driveway where car headlights would bring out the refractive qualities.
